The Wildacres Experience:
Wildacres Art Workshops is an exceptional retreat experience for artistic immersion and creative camaraderie in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Open to adult students of all skill levels, these one-week workshops are designed to inspire the experienced artist to explore new methods and ideas, and acquaint the novice with methods and techniques in a selected discipline.

Each week of classes, demonstrations, critiques and lectures is intended for artistic experimentation and offers extensive time to focus on your work, cultivate new ideas and develop new skills.  Small class sizes ensure individual attention to your work and creative goals.  Studios remain open to registered students outside of class schedules.

Students may enroll in one or two workshops, with the exception of those taking Clay Studio.  For example: Design Fundamentals (Session A) and Artist’s Sketchbook Journal (Session B), in particular, are great complements to the afternoon classes.

Many students choose to enroll in the consecutive summer sessions A and B to immerse in creative exploration.  This is a wonderful opportunity to thoroughly investigate one medium or study new media while enjoying the beautiful mountain surroundings.  Additionally, the splendor of autumn colors and the warmth of crackling fires in the evenings make the October session an irresistible artistic getaway.

A family member or friend is welcome to accompany you for the week and simply enjoy the retreat’s mountain setting and environs for the cost of lodging, meals and gratuity.

Upon completion of a weeklong workshop, participants may be awarded Ringling College CEUs.
